Individual Therapy & Counselling
Individual Therapy involves working with the client on a one -on-one basis to address their difficulties. Clients can share their innermost thoughts and feelings so that they can understand themselves better by gaining a compassionate, non-judgmental perspective.
As a mental health therapist, I specialize in the use of Mindfulness based interventions including psychotherapeutic modalities such Cognitive-Behavioural Therapy, Acceptance and Commitment therapy and Somatic experiencing for the treatment of stress related conditions, anxiety, mood and depressive disorders, Â sexuality and LGBTQ related issues.
My experience and work have allowed me to witness radical changes in clients. I work to awaken the clientsâ capacity to understand how their inner thoughts and feelings have undermined their movement to integration and blocked their creativity. Mindfulness facilitates clarity of perception, and establishes stability and self compassion. From here change is possible.
Our work together will start with an initial session (intake). During this session, youâll be invited to talk about what is bringing you to therapy, and your therapy goals. Iâll ask a few questions to learn more about you and you will also be able to ask me questions. The quality of our work relies on your willingness to bring up important topics and challenge yourself to engage fully in the process. Commitment to weekly therapy is an important part of actively working towards change. As you make progress in completing your goals, we will assess together the frequency of sessions.
I live between Mumbai and Toronto and undertake sessions online and in-person.
Cancellation Policy: I request all clients to give me 24 hoursâ notice in the event of a cancellation.
Otherwise, clients will be required to compensate session time by paying for the full session.
LGBTQ/Queer Affirmative therapy
The simple truth is that for the most part, men are still expected to fall in love with women, women are still expected to fall in love with men, and together they are still expected to marry, reproduce, and inculcate their children with similar beliefs and expectations. And whenever a person feels or desires something outside that cultural norm, life becomes more difficult. These people who tend to be different are generally being raised in intolerant homes with the overarching expectations of society.
As such, these individuals know, deep in their hearts and usually rather early in life, who they are and what they want in a partner. Society rejects them, they are regarded by many as abnormal and/or unacceptable. Hence: these extra layers of trauma and shame that many LGBTQ people carry are dealt with within. LGBTQ/Queer affirmative therapy helps individuals to address challenges relating to ones sexual identity & orientation.

I studied psychology in university and the idea of going to a therapist always appealed to me, however it took the experience of living in cities outside of my home and a troubled relationship to finally reach out to Craig. Coming to therapy started me off on a journey of unravelling my issues and finally changing my perspective. His technique of CBT orientated mindfulness based interventions has been so helpful to me.

I am very grateful to Craig and the MBCT programme for helping me to learn about my emotional patterns as well as so much more about my own psyche. The two most valuable benefits of completing the course have been learning to still myself through reflection and meditation and to learn how to identify and break through thought spirals that would lead to anxiety and upsetting times.

For a considerable amount of time, I was unsure of going to a Therapist. Most importantly, I was worried about finding the right therapist who wouldnât make me lose faith in the process of therapy. Craig came as a recommendation from a close friend and I think it was one of the best things to have happened to me! Â The first thing that struck me about him was his warmth and how it felt like, it was a natural thing to be honest with him. His sessions are a safe space where one can be vulnerable without any fear of judgement. He switches effortlessly from being a caring friend to someone who will administer tough love depending on what you need. In around 8 sessions, I felt like a burden of many years had begun to thaw and I could carry on the healing process with the guidance and insights I had taken away from our sessions. Craig is a ‘God sent’ therapist. I have and will continue to recommend him to friends and family!
